Accessorize pallet

Accessorize Lovely day eye shadow pallet
Superdrug
£8.95
I'm torn between this pallet, I just can't decide if I like it or not.
All the colors in this pallet are wearable and I imagine that every one will get used.
There's a lovely mix of mattes and shimmers and something for every occasion.
The problem being the pigment - some of the shadows and deep and rich, wear as some of them are barely visible on the skin.
I think with enough build up they would work but that's not too great for blending

Over the next few weeks i'm going to experiment with some of the shades creating different looks, I shall keep you updated.

Some of the browns and pearls are great for day time looks, I'm sporting some below.

Overall I think this is a great product for the price, for just under £9 you can't really go wrong, something to have a play with. Just wish all the pigments wear the same.

Brows

I bought this on a bit of a whim in Superdrug the other week and have been using it everyday.
The kit comes with a colored wax (the darker one) and a lighter powder. You apply the wax using the angled brush to define the shape and then buff it out with the powder.
I really like how you apply it as I find you can get a much better shape then with a pencil.
The mirror in this kit is amazing and clear.
I feel the color is great on me, it's very hard to find a ginger eyebrow filler.
The only downside is that it doesn't last all day, after a long day its smudged and faded, although it easy to throw in your bag and reapply.
The kit also come with some miniature tweezers, not the best in the world but handy.
I would properly repurchase this again as I like the color how it is applied.

Project of the moment - Crochet

Inspired by this image from Carina's blog

Every now and again I like to set myself a little project, this time I chose crochet, after looking around on the inter-web I decided I would have a go at crochet, specifically a 'Granny blanket'.

I have messed about in crochet before but have always given up as I found it difficult, the Granny square is super easy to do and with a little practice you'l of turned into a crochet machine.

I tend to make them before bed as they are very calming to do, I hope I cam make something as beautiful as the one Carina has made she has some lovely tutorials on her blog with easy to follow advice.

If you would like to try a spot of crochet ask around your family  your mum, granny or auntie may have a dab hand at crochet, or there's loaaadssss of videos on YouTube. Its a lot simpler than it looks.

Something like this would be a great home made pressie for a friend expecting or moving into a new house, or even something special for your self.

You can make them in any size or colour.

I'l update you on the finished project :)

Botanics clay mask

Botanics
Ionic clay mask
Shine away
£6.99

I love the Botanics range available from Boots, there products are affordable and all work well with my skin.
The main thing that attracts me is the use of natural plants and ingredients, although I apply chemicals and mad made ingrediants on to my face everyday I like to add a little nature ever now and again.
I bought this on offer (£4.66), all the Botanics range has a 1/3 of at the moment, and have been applying it weekly after a deep cleanse. It really helps clear my skin and remove some of the excess oil from my face, since using this I've noticed a massive reduction in spots and pimples, always a good thing.
Clay products are well know for reducing excess oil and the label informs me that the willow bark contains salicylic acid ( no idea what that is) which helps refine skin texture and actively target imperfections.
Whether this is true or not i do not know, i do know that this product works and I will defiantly be repurchasing.

P.S. its always fun to play the clay mask cracking game :)

Summer polish

Barry M nail paint
Coral 296
This nail color is possibly my all time favorite nail color, especially for summer (if that's what you can call this horrid weather). This is my third bottle.

Its such a lovely shade of corally pink, great for adding a pop an outfit without being as garish as a neon color.

Barry M are my favorite brand of nail polishes super cheap, and with a top coat will fast a good few days.
There's such a massive choice of colors and effects. I really want to try out the magnetic ones.

TTFN!
